The ultrasound division joined Dr. Braden Hexom in demonstrating bedside echocardiography to the first year medical students today. For the past three years Dr. Jeffrey Laitman, director of the Gross Anatomy course, has enlisted the help of the Emergency Department to augment the course curriculum with surface anatomy, a procedures series, and ultrasound. The medical students have enjoyed the sessions, and the curriculum has been presented at the national Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) meeting.

Drs. Braden Hexom, Bret Nelson, Alan Huang, Kanika Gupta, Kit Tainter, and Makini Chisolm led the entire Gross Anatomy class through a sonographic tour of the heart in small groups.
